geography
The Bibert rises immediately to the southwest of the hamlet . In the northeast is the Bibertgrund, about 0.5 km southeast of the Stockheim tendrils. A community road leads to Neustetten to the district road AN 21 (1.7 km southwest) or to the district road AN 24 near Hainklingen (0.7 km northeast).
history
The place was first mentioned by name in 1398 as "Smalnpuhel". The place name means at or on the small Bühl (hill).
From 1488 the Heilsbronn monastery acquired four properties in the town. In 1636, during the Thirty Years' War , all of Heilsbronn's properties were deserted.
Towards the end of the 18th century, Hainklingen formed a community with Schmalnbühl. There were five properties in Schmalnbühl (3 courtyards, 1 quarter courtyard, 1 house). The high court exercised the Obervogteiamt Virnsberg of the Teutonic Order . The Teutonic Order Coming of Nuremberg held the village and community rule and the lordship over all properties .
As part of the municipal edict, Schmalnbühl was assigned to the Virnsberg tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Virnsberg, founded in 1811 . On June 12, 1824, Schmalnbühl was reorganized into the newly formed community of Neustetten . In the course of the regional reform , this municipality was incorporated into the Flachslanden market on January 1, 1972.
