Place name interpretation

The place name is interpreted as "Siedlung am Steinbächlein", on the narrow upper reaches of the Steinbach.

history

The place was first mentioned in the Rothenburger Ächtbuch from 1330 as "Steinbachlin". There are also entries in the Würzburg fief books of the 14th century, which make it clear that the Würzburg monastery originally held the feudal lordship. Around 1400 the lords of Seckendorff zu Jochsberg were wealthy as fiefs in the place.

The 16-point report of the margravial office Brunst from 1608 describes Steinbächlein and Waizendorf as a community of seven teams (= subject families), which were subordinate to the margravial office Brunst of the municipal bailiff Leutershausen with regard to all rights . In the Thirty Years' War Steinbächlein said in a court register from 1641: "2 half-yards, desolate, no one available." In 1681 three teams belonged to the village of Steinbächlein, who paid interest in the margravial office of Colmberg and were still subject to the Brunst court of the Leutershausen municipal bailiff.

In the delimitation contract regarding the Fraisch between the House of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst and Brandenburg-Ansbach from 1710 Steinbächlein was awarded to the margrave. In 1732 it is said that the hamlet consists of four subjects who are assigned with all rights to the Brandenburg-Ansbach Office Brunst of the Leutershausen City Bailiff. The decade had two-thirds of the Margrave's box office Colmberg and one-third the Stadtvogtei Office Eschenbach of the Teutonic Order be given; Before the Reformation, he had the right of patronage for Weißenkirchberg.

At the end of the Old Kingdom there were four properties in the village, all of which were subject to the Ansbach City Bailiff's Office in Leutershausen and the Colmberg caste office, namely two farms and two half farms (sheep farms). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

As part of the community edict, Steinbächlein was assigned to the Jochsberg tax district, formed in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community Erlbach, founded in 1810 . In 1846 (still 1856) Steinbächlein and Johann Leonhard Stadler , who ran a horse breeding business, appointed the mayor of Erlbach. In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Erlbach and with it Steinbächlein was incorporated into the city of Leutershausen on January 1, 1972.
