Wolf Mill

Wolfsmühle (colloquially: Wolfsmíl ) is a district of the city of Leutershausen in the district of Ansbach in the Central Franconian district .

geography

The wasteland forms a closed settlement with Jochsberg and lies on a derivation of the Altmühl , the Mühlbach.

Place name interpretation

The place name is probably based on "Wolf" as a family name and not as an animal name.

history

The mill property was first mentioned in a document in 1343 as "molendinum apud Jochesperg" ( Latin = "mill near Jochsberg "). In a margravial fiefdom from 1459, the mill under the castle is named together with the fishing water of the Altmühl. In 1545 the mill was owned by a Wolf Horn - perhaps the mill was named after it. In 1604, a new fiefdom letter from the margrave for Hans Joachim von Seckendorff zu Jochsberg mentions the “Great Mill”, “now called Wolfsmühle”. Her team was pastured to Jochsberg and in 1608 vogt to Johannes von Seckendorff zu Jochsberg -, valid , taxable and tenable. According to the 16-point report from 1681, the mill was subordinate to the now Brandenburg-Ansbach Vogtamt Jochsberg and belonged to the community of Jochsberg with the infidelity mill . Nothing about that changed until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

As part of the municipal edict, the Wolfsmühle was assigned to the Jochsberg tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Jochsberg, founded in 1810 . The mill was also an agricultural property; In 1873 13 head of cattle were kept.

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the mill with Jochsberg was incorporated into the city of Leutershausen on January 1, 1972.
