Tiefenthal (dialect: Dīf ɘ dṓl ) is a district of the city of Leutershausen in the district of Ansbach in the administrative district of Middle Franconia .

geography

Immediately south of the village, the Krämleinsbach rises, which is a left tributary of the Altmühl . Approx. The sable wood is 1 km to the northwest, and the Rote Berg rises approx. 1 km to the southeast. A community connecting road leads to Neunkirchen (1 km southwest). Another community road leads to Lengenfeld to state road 2246 (2 km south) or to a community road (0.5 km west), which runs to Hinterholz (1.1 km north) and also to Neunkirchen (1.1 km south) .

Place name interpretation

The place name is derived from an identical field name, which presumably denoted the valley of the Krämleinsbach.

history

At the end of the 13th century, Wolfram von Geißendorf, as the ministerial of the Truhedinger, owned in Tiefenthal as a fiefdom of the Würzburg monastery . In 1303 the place was first mentioned by name in the Würzburg feudal books as Tieffental . At the beginning of the 14th century, the Lords of Heideck, as heirs of the Lords of Dornberg, owned all of Tiefenthal. In the 1684 Ansbach 16-point report, 18 teams were listed for Tiefenthal. The landlords were the Kastenamt Ansbach (2 estates, 4 houses), the Stiftsamt Ansbach (3 estates) and the manor Rügland of the Lords of Crailsheim (9 estates). The community had a shepherd's house. All rights were with the upper and caste office in Ansbach. These relationships are confirmed by Vetter's descriptions of the Oberamts from 1732. The place was tithe free . Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , the village consisted of 19 properties, nine of which were subject to the two Ansbach offices (two Köbler estates and four empty houses to the Kastenamt, three Köblers to the Stiftsamt) and nine to the Crailsheimers (1 courtyard, 1 half courtyard, 6 estates, 1 Gütlein, 1 empty building). The community had the shepherd's house and the crushing house . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Tiefenthal was assigned to the Neunkirchen tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Neunkirchen, founded in 1811 . The residents were subordinate to the district court of Ansbach . From 1820 to 1848, however, the Lords of Crailsheim held a first class patrimonial jurisdiction for their land holdings - initially ten in Tiefenthal and twelve in 1848 - based in Rügland.

On January 1, 1972, Tiefenthal was incorporated into the city of Leutershausen as part of the regional reform . The last mayor of the Neunkirchen community was Fritz Aumann from Tiefenthal from 1968.

On July 10, 2015, there was a rampage in the village , in which an 82-year-old woman in the village and a cyclist in neighboring Rammersdorf were killed.
