Place name interpretation

In 1447 the place was first mentioned by name as "Hagenmül", in 1498 as "Hagenmüller" and in 1732 as "Hagen Mühl". In 1790 the place was first called "Hohmühl". The place name is made up of the basic word "mül" and the final word mhd. "Hag" (= bushes, bushes), so that the place name can be interpreted as a mill near the bushes. The “long” “a” has dimmed to a “long” “o” in the dialect ; Finally, the current name form was written.

history

According to Vetterschen Oberamtsbeschreibung from 1732, the mill belonged to the Eichstättischen caste office Herrieden , was parish in Neunkirchen near Leutershausen and paid the tithe to the Herrieden regional chapter; the Fraisch had the top and box office Ansbach held. Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , the mill belonged to the Lengenfeld community and was now under the manorial authority of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Hohenmühle was assigned to the Neunkirchen tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Neunkirchen, founded in 1811 . In 1870 the Mühlgut included a barn, a pigsty, a coach house, a whole community and sheep grazing law, a forestry right to purchase a certain amount of wood, fields, meadows, a pond and forests in the tax communities of Neunkirchen, Elpersdorf near Ansbach and Schalkhausen , for example 63 daily work .

On January 1, 1972 Hohenmühle was incorporated into Leutershausen as part of the regional reform .
