history

The mill is mentioned in the oldest fief books of the Würzburg monastery from the 14th century. In the 16-point report of the Brunst Office from 1608, it says that the mill is valid and controllable by the Brandenburg-Ansbach Office of Colmberg and is vogtable by the Brandenburg-Ansbach City Bailiwick Office in Leutershausen . The 16-point report from 1681 says that a Brandenburg-Ansbach team (the miller with his family and servants) was sitting here. In the border treaty of 1710 regarding the Fraisch between the House of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst and Brandenburg-Ansbach, the mill was awarded to the margrave.

Towards the end of the 18th century the Weihersmühle belonged to Schwand . The mill still had the Colmberg caste office as landlord. Under the Prussian administration (1792-1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Weihersmühle was given house number 1 in the village of Eyb. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

In 1806 Weihersmühle came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Weihersmühle was assigned to the Brunst tax district, which was formed in 1808 . In 1810 the rural community Erlach was formed, to which Weihersmühle also belonged.

According to a listing from 1830, the mill property belonged to an extensive forest area between Leutershausen and Sulz Abbey with the main town of Brunst, known as “the Brünst” or “the Brunst”, which has been cleared in places since the Middle Ages . The Brünst was known for its good cattle breeding; their 22 settlements were considered rich. For example, 17 cattle were kept in the mill property in 1873.

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Erlach and thus also the Weihersmühle was incorporated into the city of Leutershausen on May 1, 1978.
