Pilsmühle (colloquially: Beltsmîl ) is a district of the municipality of Rügland in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Mettlachbach, which is a left tributary of the Haselbach , which in turn is a right tributary of the Bibert . Approx. 0.25 km to the west, the Kautzenbach flows into the Mettlachbach as a right tributary. A community road leads to Rügland to the district road AN 17 (0.15 km north) or to AN 9 (km east) between Rügland (0.2 km north) and Haasgang (0.8 km south-east).

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1429 as "Peltzmüll". The defining word of the place name is the Middle High German word "belz" (= branch, rod, bushes). When the meaning of the word Belz was no longer known in the 19th century, the name was associated with mushrooms .

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Pilsmühle belonged to Rügland. The mill had the manor Rügland of the Lords of Crailsheim as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792-1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Pilsmühle was given house number 23 in Rügland. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Pilsmühle was assigned to the Rügland tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Rügland, founded in 1811 . From 1820 to 1848, the property was subject to the Rügland Patrimonial Court in voluntary jurisdiction .

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Margaretha (Rügland) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Dionysius (Virnsberg) .
