history

The place name is derived from Rosenberg Castle , whose owner Eberhart von Rosenbergk was first mentioned by name in 1398. The castle name is a fantasy name that does not refer to a real fact, as was still common until the 13th century. From this it can be concluded that the castle was probably not built until the 14th century, when such fantasy names came up. The place itself was first mentioned by name in 1442 as "Roßenberg".

Rosenberg was owned by the Lords of Vestenberg zu Rosenberg from the beginning until this line died out in 1586 with the last descendant, Ritter Crafft von Vestenberg zu Rosenberg and Elpersdorf . At that time, the small section castle was already in disrepair. Only the castle stables, some ramparts and a corner tower ruin made of bubble sandstone have been preserved.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties in Rosenberg (1 estate with commercial and baking justice, 2 Köbler estates , 10 empty houses ). The high court exercised the manor Rügland of the Lords of Crailsheim to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Ansbach court box office in Brandenburg-Ansbach . The rulership of the Rügland manor held the rulership of the village and the community and the manor over all properties. In addition to the property, there were stately (building yard, sheep house) and communal buildings (shepherd's house). At that time there were 14 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict , Rosenberg was assigned to the Rügland tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Rügland, founded in 1811 . From 1820 to 1848, the entire place was subject to the Rügland Patrimonial Court in voluntary jurisdiction .
