geography

The church village is located on the Ödenbach, which is a left tributary of the Kreuthbach, which in turn is a right tributary of the Altmühl . There is a nature reserve 0.5 km north between the Lenzenberg and the Brandholz . There is a marl pit that has been designated as a geotope . 1 km to the west rises the Höhenberg ( 458  m above sea level ), 0.7 km southeast of the Rabenbuck .

The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In the 16-point report of the Colmberg Oberamt from 1681, 21 teams are listed for Cadolzhofen. The high court was disputed by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth mayor offices of Markt Bergel and Burgbernheim .

In 1806 Cadolzhofen came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, Cadolzhofen was assigned to the Windelsbach tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Windelsbach, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Cadolzhofen became an independent rural community. It was subject to the Leutershausen Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Colmberg Rent Office for financial administration . From 1862 Cadolzhofen was administered by the Rothenburg ob der Tauber district office (renamed the Rothenburg ob der Tauber district in 1938 ). In 1862 jurisdiction was transferred to the Rothenburg Regional Court (from 1880 Rothenburg ob der Tauber Local Court ). The financial management was taken over in 1880 by Rentamt Rothenburg ob der Tauber (renamed Finanzamt Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1920 ). The municipality had an area of ​​4.153 km².

On July 1, 1972, the community came to the district of Ansbach , on May 1, 1978 it was incorporated into Windelsbach as part of the regional reform .
