Linden is a district of the municipality Windelsbach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The Windelsbach flows south of the village and joins the Wurmbach to form the Ödenbach , which is a left tributary of the Kreuthbach . Approx. 0.5 km south is the monastery forest, about 0.5 km northwest of the Vogelbach forest.

The district road AN 8 leads to Nordenberg (1.5 km north) or Windelsbach (2.2 km east). Municipal roads lead to Schweinsdorf (2 km west) and past Wachsenberg to state road 2250 (3.5 km south).

history

Originally, the Lords of Nordenberg were wealthy in Linden. In 1383 they sold their claims to the imperial city of Rothenburg .

As part of the community edict (early 19th century), Linden was assigned to the Schweinsdorf tax district of the rural community of Nordenberg . As part of the regional reform , Linden was incorporated into Windelsbach on January 1, 1972.

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. The inhabitants of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Martin (Windelsbach) , the inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Johannis (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) .
