history
Burghausen was built in the 10th or 11th century around a tower hill castle ( Burghausen Castle ), which was originally owned by the patrician family of Ebner von Eschenbach .
In the 16-point report of Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamts Colmberg from the year 1681 were registered 13 teams for Burghausen: 1 property was under the box office Colmberg , one property the eichstättischen Office Herrieden , one property of the German Order of Coming Virnsberg , 3 estate the lords of Seckendorf to Obernzenn and 7 properties to the Privy Councilor Forester zu Ansbach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth mayor's office in Markt Bergel .
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties and a community shepherd's house in Burghausen. The high court exercised the Burghausen manor to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the mayor's office in Markt Bergel. The Burghausen manor held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the Burghausen manor (2 courtyards, 1 half courtyard, 1 tavern, 4 estates, 1 hereditary forge, 1 little estate, 1 Köblersgut, 1 house) and the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste office Ipsheim (1 house).
In 1810 Burghausen came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . In the context of the municipal edict, Burghausen was assigned to the Bergel tax district in 1811 . In 1817 it also belonged provisionally to the municipal municipality of Bergel. With the second community edict (1818), Burghausen became an independent rural community . The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the District Court of Windsheim and the financial administration of the Ipsheim Rent Office . On April 1, 1832, he moved to the Leutershausen Regional Court and Colmberg Rent Office . From 1862 Burghausen was administered by the Rothenburg ob der Tauber district office (renamed the Rothenburg ob der Tauber district in 1938 ). In 1862, jurisdiction was transferred to the Rothenburg Regional Court , and from 1880 the Rothenburg ob der Tauber Local Court . The financial management was taken over in 1880 by Rentamt Rothenburg ob der Tauber (renamed Finanzamt Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1920 ). The municipality had an area of 3.166 km². In the course of the regional reform , Burghausen was incorporated into Windelsbach on May 1, 1978.
