history

Originally, the Ermetzhof was under the high jurisdiction of the Eichstätt Monastery , which later awarded it to the Lords of Seckendorff zu Obernzenn as a "free aristocratic fief and knighthood". In 1715 the place was so run down that it was broken up by its owners and sold to ten families. This created the village of Ermetzhof.

At the end of the 18th century there were 16 properties in Ermetzhof. The high court exercised the manor Obernzenn . The village and township government had the manor Obernzenn-Gutend held. The landlords were the manor Obernzenn-Gutend (3 half yards, 7 estates, 5 houses) and the community of Ermetzhof (1 house). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

In 1806 Ermetzhof came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, Ermetzhof was assigned to the Oberdachstetten tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Oberdachstetten, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Ermetzhof became an independent rural community. The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the district court Leutershausen and the financial administration of the Colmberg Rent Office . From 1862 to 1879 Ermetzhof was administered by the district office of Ansbach , from 1880 by the district office of Rothenburg ob der Tauber (renamed the district of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1938 ) The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Leutershausen until 1879, from 1880 district court of Rothenburg ob der Tauber . The financial management was taken over in 1880 by Rentamt Rothenburg ob der Tauber (renamed Finanzamt Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1920 ). The municipality had an area of 1.746 km².

On July 1, 1972, Ermetzhof was incorporated into the municipality of Marktbergel as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

religion

In addition to Ermetzhof, Binzwangen and Cadolzhofen were also part of the historic parish of Marktbergel. The consecration of new churches in Cadolzhofen and Binzwangen led to a change in this constellation, so that today Ermetzhof is the only historical district that has remained with its original municipality of Marktbergel.

Trivia

In several historical sources, the village is also referred to as "Ermetshofen", "Ermershofen" or "Ermezhoffen". Due to the geographical proximity to Ermetzhofen , 15 km away, there are still confusion about the name designation.

Culture

With the non-profit association "Kultur in der Scheune" founded in 2013, Ermetzhof has an institution that reaches a wide audience far beyond the borders of the district with 10 to 15 high-quality events from the fields of early music and literature.
