Gugelmühle is a former part of the municipality Windelsbach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ). After 1885 the mill is no longer run as a district.

geography

Today the wasteland consists of a residential building with house number 1 and five outbuildings. The place is on the Ödenbach , a left tributary of the Kreuthbach , which in turn is a right tributary of the Altmühl . The Landergraben, which rises almost 5km to the west, flows into the Ödenbach from the right at the Gugelmühle. The Kreuther Forest borders in the south and the Höhenberg rises approx. 1 km to the southeast ( 458  m above sea level ).

The district road AN 8 leads to Windelsbach (1 km northwest) or Cadolzhofen (1.5 km east). The AN 7 leads to Hornau (2.2 km north).

history

In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach district of Leutershausen from 1608, a team was recorded for Gugelmühle that had the Mohrische Erben zu Ansbach as landlord . The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg .

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Gugelmühle belonged to Windelsbach. The mill had the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste office in Colmberg as the landlord. Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Gugelmühle was given house number 42 in the village of Windelsbach. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

As part of the community edict, Gugelmühle was assigned to the Windelsbach tax district, which was formed in 1808 . She also belonged to the rural community of Windelsbach, founded in 1810 .

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. The inhabitants of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Martin (Windelsbach) , the inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Johannis (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) .
