Karrachmühle is a district of the municipality Windelsbach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The wasteland is surrounded by forest on the Karrachbach, which flows together with other streams to form a right tributary of the Altmühl . Immediately to the west of the village is the Karrachsee with the rest of the castle hill tower Schlösschen . The Karrachwald borders in the southwest, the Johanniterholz in the west and the Klosterwald in the northwest. A service road leads to Gunzendorf (2 km southeast).

history

The place was first mentioned in the Würzburg Lehenbuch , which was created between 1303 and 1313, as "Karach".

In the geographical statistical-topographical lexicon of Franconia (1801) the place is described as follows:

“ Karrach, mutilated Koari, Rothenburg place within the land defense, 2 hours from the city towards Colmberg. He has 2 parish rights and 2 households, is parish in Windelsbach and tenth free. There are 2 lakes there, one belonging to the miller there, the other belonging to the Rothenburg tax office. The latter bought the lake in 1383 with Nortenberg. The mill, called Karrachmühle, was rebuilt in 1692. The place has 2 services and provides 1 car.
Karrachmühl, imperial city of Rothenburg oberschlächtige mill on Karrachsee, which has two grinding courses, 1 gerbgan and 1 cutting unit for boards. The mill, which is zehntfrey, was rebuilt in 1692; and is parked in Windelsbach. "

As part of the community edict (early 19th century), the Karrachmühle was assigned to the Neusitz tax district and the Nordenberg rural community . In the course of the regional reform , this was incorporated into Windelsbach on January 1, 1972.

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. The inhabitants of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Martin (Windelsbach) , the inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Johannis (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) .
