District Court of Rothenburg

The Rothenburg Regional Court was an older Bavarian regional court that existed from 1808 to 1879 and was based in Rothenburg ob der Tauber in what is now the Ansbach district . In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities, which were replaced in administrative matters by the district offices in 1862 and in legal matters by the local courts in 1879 .

In 1808, in the course of the administrative reorganization of Bavaria, the Rothenburg Regional Court was established. This was added to the Rezatkreis , whose capital was Ansbach .

In 1846 the district court of Rothenburg was 4 12 square miles in size. There were 9,651 inhabitants (including 420 Catholics), 109 localities (22 parish villages , 4 parish villages , 7 villages , 30 hamlets and 46 wastelands ) and 29 rural communities.

In 1858 the communities of Erzberg, Gailnau, Gailroth, Oestheim, Wettringen and Wörnitz were handed over to the Schillingsfürst district court .
