Södelbronn is a part of the community Neusitz in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is located on a hill that is directly connected to the forest with an ascent to the Frankenhöhe . A community road leads to Horabach (0.7 km north) or to a community road (0.7 km south-west), which runs to Kirnberg on state road 2249 (0.5 km south) or to Erlbach (0.8 km north-west) .

history

The interpretation of the place name as a dairy farm near a spring (= Sedelhof ) presupposes an original form "Södelhofbronn", which is not documented. However, the later omission of the settlement type in place names is quite common. A derivation of Sodwell is theoretically conceivable, but it would leave open how the unusual expression of today's place name came about.

Södelbronn was in the Fraisch district of the imperial city of Rothenburg on the border with the Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg . In 1800 there were six households in the village, all of which were subject to the imperial city of Rothenburg.

With the community edict (early 19th century), the place was assigned to the Gebsattel tax district and the Neusitz rural community .
