Wachsenberg is a district of the community of Neusitz in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on a hill, which is referred to as Lug ins Land 0.5 km further west , and there it drops into the broad dew plain. The Mäderholz is also to the west . To the east is the Karrach Forest . The Wachsenberger Graben rises in the village and forms a right tributary of the Tauber with other streams . A community road leads to State Road 2250 (0.7 km south) or to Linden (2.5 km north). Another communal road also leads to the St 2250 (0.4 km south). The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .

history

Wachsenberg was in an area that originally belonged to Lupold von Nordenberg . In 1255 he bequeathed it to the Neusitz Church Foundation. Ten years later the legacy was transferred to the Dominican convent, which at that time moved from Neusitz to Rothenburg. The place name is derived from the Wachberg.

There was originally a land tower or castle in the village , which was demolished in 1442 by Margrave Albrecht in 1442. In 1804 there were two households that were subject to the imperial city of Rothenburg.

With the community edict (early 19th century), the place was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Neusitz.
