Oberwörnitz is a district of the municipality of Wörnitz in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on the Wörnitz and Seewiesengraben, a right tributary of the Wörnitz. Approx. The Rosenfeld is located 0.5 km north of the village, and an industrial area is adjacent to the south. The district road AN 5 leads to Wörnitz to state road 2419 (0.5 km south) or to state road 2246 (0.8 km north). A community road leads to Riedenberg (0.5 km northeast).

history

The place is first mentioned in 1352 as "Obern Werntz". The place name is derived from the Wörnitz river of the same name, which flows through the municipality.

In 1804 there were nine households in the place.

With the community edict (early 19th century) Oberwörnitz was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Wörnitz.

Former architectural monument

  • House No. 1: Half-timbered stable house from 1735. K-struts and profiled lugs on the gable floor. Round-arched, timbered front door, marked H 17 Z 35 HR . Double wing. Endangered state of construction.
