history

Bottenweiler was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 there were 11 properties (8 properties, 1 property with an economy, 1 property with forge, 1 property with baking justice) and 1 communal shepherd's house. The village and township government had the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl held that also the sole landlord was over all property. By the end of the Old Kingdom nothing had changed in the circumstances. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

In 1806 Bottenweiler came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict (early 19th century) Bottenweiler was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Wildenholz . By 1840 at the latest, Bottenweiler broke up with Großmühlen and Waldhausen and formed its own rural community. It was subject to the Feuchtwangen Regional Court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 4.645 km². In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria (1971) this was incorporated into Wörnitz.
