history
The place was first mentioned in a document on October 22nd, 1299. Lupold II von Weiltingen gave his wife Margarete Hakke von Wellstein the villages of Unter- and Oberampfrach as compensation. Previously, he had sold goods that originally belonged to her to the Kirchheim convent . The original spellings of the place were "Ampfre", "Ampfraw" and "Ampherach". There was a church in the village that was raised to a parish no later than the 14th century. In a document dated July 12, 1379 it was confirmed that the Bishop of Augsburg had left the parish of Oberampfrach to the Feuchtwanger Stift . The place was originally under aristocratic owners, u. a. (in chronological order) the gentlemen von Seckendorff , von Heßberg and von Seinsheim . In 1597 Georg Ludwig von Seinsheim sold his claims to the Principality of Ansbach .
Oberampfrach was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 18 properties with 19 teams, a church, a rectory and a school and shepherd's house of the community. Were landlords
