history

The place was first mentioned in a document on October 22nd, 1299. Lupold II von Weiltingen gave his wife Margarete Hakke von Wellstein the villages of Unter- and Oberampfrach as compensation. Previously, he had sold goods that originally belonged to her to the Kirchheim convent .

Unterampfrach was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 59 properties with 62 teams and 1 parsonage, 1 schoolhouse, 1 court from 12 lay judges. The village and community rule was held by the Vogtamt Ampfrach . The landlords were Vogtamt Ampfrach (1 administrative courtyard, 2 courtyards, 6 half courtyards, 2 estates with tabern estates with baking rights, 2 estates with baking rights, 1 estate with baths, 1 estate with an inn, 1 estate with a forge, 3 estates with double crew, 16 estates, 1 little house with forge, 9 little houses), the Feuchtwangen monastery administration office (2 estates, 2 little houses) and the Feuchtwangen caste office (1 yard, 1 little estate, 6 houses). 1 mill and 1 Good were a free self . Nothing in these conditions changed until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

In 1806 Unterampfrach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict (early 19th century), the tax district Unterampfrach was formed, to which the places Altersberg , Gumpenweiler , Haundorf , Holdermühle , Jakobsmühle , Jockenmühle, Ransbach adHolzecke and Stollenhof belonged. A little later, the rural community Unterampfrach was formed with the places Hilpertsweiler, Jakobsmühle and Stollenhof . It was subject to the Feuchtwangen Regional Court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 8.738 km². In the course of the regional reform (January 1, 1972) this was incorporated into Schnelldorf.
