Grimmschimmern is a district of the community Schnelldorf in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village forms a closed settlement with Schnelldorf to the east and is located in the valley on the Ampfrach , which is a right tributary of the Wörnitz . It is surrounded by fields (west: Hohlbrunn, north-west: Winkelwiesen, north: Wasenteile, south: Hart), which is followed by elevations of Schnelldorfer Hardt, which is part of the Frankenhöhe (north-west: Ochsenberg ( 536  m above sea level ), north : Birkenberg ( 547  m above sea level ), southwest: Simonsberg ( 535  m above sea level )). Two communal roads lead to Schnelldorf each to State Road 2222 (0.8 km northeast and 0.7 km east).

history

The place was previously called "Grimswinden". From the place-name broadcast "–winds" one can conclude that the place is one of the Wendish settlements that were planned by the authorities in large numbers in the Middle Ages.

Grimmschreiben was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 13 properties with 15 teams (7 properties, 3 properties with cones, 2 goods with double crew, 1 little house). There was also 1 ruined castle with the game master's apartment and stables , 1 tithe barn , 1 community forge, 1 shepherd's house. The village and community rulership was held by the Feuchtwangen monastery administrator , which was also the sole landlord of all properties. Towards the end of the Old Kingdom there were 16 teams. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

With the Gemeindeedikt (early 19th c.) The place was the tax district and the Rural Municipality Oberampfrach assigned. The municipality of Oberampfrach was renamed Schnelldorf in 1971.
