history

In 1471 it was first mentioned that Gailroth belonged to the Michelbach parish. In 1581 Gailroth came into the possession of Hans Georg von Berlichingen except for four Hohenlohisch-Bartenstein subjects . In 1601 he sold his goods to Christoph von Crailsheim zu Walsdorf and his son Veit Christoph von Crailsheim . In 1631 Count Georg von Schwarzenberg received the goods of Veit Christoph von Crailsheim from Emperor Ferdinand II . During the Thirty Years' War the place was deserted except for two properties.

Gailroth was originally in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 15 properties. The landlords were the Michelbach office of the Schwarzenberg county (11 properties) and the Schnelldorf office of the Hohenlohe-Bartenstein county (4 yards). In the following years Gailroth was assigned to the Ansbach Oberamt Crailsheim . There were 16 subject families at that time. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Crailsheim .

With the community edict (early 19th century), Gailroth was assigned to the Wettringen tax district . A little later, the rural community Gailroth was formed, to which the places Leitsweiler , Theuerbronn and Ebethof belonged. It was subordinate to the regional court of Rothenburg in administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 8.648 km². In the course of the regional reform (July 1, 1972) Gailroth was incorporated into Schnelldorf.
