Mühlen is a part of the municipality of Wörnitz in the district of Ansbach ( Middle Franconia ).

geography

The village is located on the Waldhausener Mühlbach , which is a right tributary of the Wörnitz , and is surrounded by fields all around (in the north: Herbstfeld, in the south: Kirchfeld). The district road AN 5 leads to Bottenweiler (1 km south) or to Bösennördlingen (2.2 km north). A community road leads to Erzberg (1.6 km to the west).

history

Großmühlen was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen , while Kleinmühlen to the north was in the Fraisch district of the imperial city of Rothenburg . In 1732 there were 5 properties in Großmühlen. The village and community rulership was held by the Sulz monastery administrator . The landlords were the monastery administration office Sulz (4 courtyards) and the imperial city Dinkelsbühl (1 property). Until the end of the Old Kingdom nothing changed in the situation. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

Großmühlen was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Wildenholz with the municipal edict (early 19th century) . After 1840 the reorganization to Bottenweiler took place . Kleinmühlen has belonged to the tax district and the rural community of Erzberg since the municipal edict . On November 1, 1971, both parts were incorporated into Wörnitz as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
