Obergailnau is a part of the municipality Wettringen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is on the Schillingsfürst-Wettringer Hardt, which is part of the Frankenhöhe . About half a kilometer south of the village is the Gailnauer Berg ( 543 m above sea level ), about 1 km northeast of the Wölfleinsberg ( 545 m above sea level ). The Vorderer Grund corridor area borders in the west.

A community road leads to Untergailnau (0.8 km northwest) or Harlang to the district road AN 16 (2 km south).

history

With the Gemeindeedikt (early 19th century). Obergailnau was the tax district and the Rural Municipality Gailnau assigned. In the course of the territorial reform , this was incorporated into Wettringen on May 1, 1978.

Ruhbank, 2nd half of the 19th century, donated to Cardinal Gustav Adolf Prinz zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst.
