history

Under the leadership of the French general Ezéchiel de Mélac , French murder torches set fire to 14 houses in November 1688 and caused at least 4,245 guilders in damage.

In 1800 there were five households, four of which were subject to the imperial city of Rothenburg and one to the German Order .

With the community edict (early 19th century), Gumpelshofen was assigned to the tax district and the rural community Ohrbach. In 1840 at the latest, the place was re- municipalityed to Oberscheckenbach . On January 1, 1972, the place was incorporated in the course of the municipal reform to Ohrbach.
