Unteroestheim is a district of the community Diebach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village lies on the Oestheimer Mühlbach, a right tributary of the Tauber . To the southwest of the village, next to the Brühlfeld, there is the Karst spring Bodenlose Loch . Approx. The Mühlberg rises 0.5 km to the north ( 437  m above sea level ), about 0.5 km to the east is the Poppenfeld.

A community road leads to Oberoestheim (0.8 km south) or to state road 2419 (2 km west). Other communal roads lead to Bellershausen on State Road 2247 (1.8 km northeast) and via the Seemühle to Diebach also to St 2247 (2.2 km north).

history

In 1801 the place had 20 households, of which 15 were subject to the imperial city of Rothenburg and 5 to Brandenburg-Ansbach .

With the community edict (early 19th century) Oberoestheim was assigned to the Gailnau tax district . A little later it was part of the newly formed rural community of Oestheim .

The place had a stop on the Steinach railway line near Rothenburg-Dombühl . In 1971 the section of the route where u. a. this breakpoint was also closed.

As part of the regional reform , Unteroestheim was incorporated into Diebach on May 1, 1978.

Architectural monuments

  • Bellershauser Straße 2: residential stable house, ground floor with rear half-timbered gable, 18./19. century
  • Bellershauser Straße 3: farm; stately, single-storey stable house, half-timbered gable, 1830; associated stately hipped roof barn of the former Taferngut.
  • Würzburger Straße 10: farm, single-storey stable house, half-timbered 1816.
  • Medieval stone cross on the way to Oberoestheim.
