history

In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608 eight teams are listed for Oberbreitenau, all of which had the Ansbach Abbey as landlord . The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Colmberg from 1681, the manorial conditions for Oberbreitenau are unchanged. However, the high court was disputed by Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst , which could not be settled until 1710 through a contract in favor of the Vogtamt Colmberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were nine properties in Oberbreitenau (1 estate, 8 Köbler estates ). The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg. The Ansbach Abbey Office held village and community rulership and land lordship over all properties. In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, breaker's house ). At that time there were 8 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

As part of the municipal edict, Oberbreitenau was assigned to the Schwabsroth tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Schwabsroth, founded in 1810 . On January 1, 1972, Oberbreitenau was incorporated into Geslau as part of the regional reform .
