history
In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608, 12 teams are recorded for Dornhausen, all of which had the caste office Colmberg as landlord . The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In the 16-point report of the Colmberg Oberamt from 1681, the number of teams has increased to 13. A forge and a shepherd's house are also mentioned.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 19 properties in Dornhausen (2 courtyards, 12 half-courtyards, 4 Köbler estates , 1 Köbler estate with forge; the donations of a Köbler estate went to the parish of Colmberg). The high court, the village and community rule and lordship over all properties continued to be exercised by the Colmberg Vogtamt. In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, forge). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .
In 1806 Dornhausen came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Dornhausen was assigned to the Geslau tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Geslau founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Dornhausen became an independent rural community, to which Kreuth belonged. The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the district court Leutershausen and the financial administration of the Colmberg Rent Office .
In 1843 the residents of Kreuth applied for the formation of their own rural community, but this was rejected. Further petitions in 1844 and 1847 were also rejected. From 1862 to 1879 the municipality of Dornhausen was administered by the district office of Ansbach , from 1880 by the district office of Rothenburg ob der Tauber (renamed the district of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Leutershausen until 1879, since 1880 district court Rothenburg ob der Tauber . The financial management was taken over in 1880 by Rentamt Rothenburg ob der Tauber (renamed Finanzamt Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1920 ). The municipality had an area of 7,083 km².
On January 1, 1972, Dornhausen was incorporated into Geslau as part of the regional reform .
