Steinach am Wald is a part of the community Geslau in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

At the hamlet , the Seewiesengraben (left) merge with the Stockengraben (right) to the Mühlbach, which is a right tributary of the Kreuthbach, which in turn is a right tributary of the Altmühl . In the northwest the Johanniterholz and the Karrachwald border. A community road leads over the Neumühle to another community road (0.9 km east), which leads to Aidenau (1.2 km south-west) or the state road 2250 crossing to Gunzendorf (0.5 km east).

history

In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608, 6 teams were recorded for Steinach: 5 properties were subordinate to the Colmberg caste office and 1 property to the mayor Schnepf of the imperial city of Rothenburg . The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In the 16-point report of the Colmberg Oberamt from 1681 7 teams are listed for Steinach, 6 of which were subordinate to the Colmberg caste office.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 8 properties and a community shepherd's house in Steinach am Wald. The high court and the village and community rulership continued to exercise the Vogtamt Colmberg. The landlords were the Kastenamt Colmberg (2 half yards, 2 Söldengütlein , 1 Köblergut , 1 Wirts-Söldengütlein) and the imperial city of Rothenburg (2 half yards). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

As part of the community edict, Steinach am Wald was assigned to the Geslau tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Geslau founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Steinach am Wald was re- grouped into the newly formed rural community Gunzendorf . On January 1, 1972, Steinach am Wald was incorporated into Geslau as part of the regional reform .

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Kilian (Geslau) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Johannis (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) .
