history

The place was first mentioned in 1288 as "Hage" and 1316 as "ze dem hage". From the naming it can be concluded that the settlement stands on soil that was won by clearing bushy terrain.

Towards the end of the 13th century, Hedwig von Vestenberg from Neuendettelsau, the wife of Hermann von Vestenberg , bought a slope from a farm in Haag and gave it to Heinrich von Hirschlach , the 13th abbot of Heilsbronn monastery , with the reservation that it would be usufruct for life and with the obligation that after her death, for the salvation of her soul, the monastery should pay 20 Heller annually to her confessor from Neuendettelsau and distribute it to the poor. In 1335 the Immeldorf House of God sold an estate in Haag to the shoemaker Heinrich Pestlin from Mausendorf , who three years later donated this estate and all other goods to the monastery. In 1404/1405, the 20th Abbot Stromair acquired four goods in Haag through an exchange with the Nuremberg Klarakloster . The goods exchanged were at Neunhof and Hegendorf . Finally, in 1436 , the 22nd abbot Kötzler acquired another estate in Haag from the citizen Stephan Tetzel from Nuremberg, so that the Heilsbronn monastery owned a total of eight farms.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608 7 teams are listed for Haag: 3 farmers and 3 Köbler were subordinate to the monastery administration office Heilsbronn and 1 farmer of the imperial city of Nuremberg . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . In the Thirty Years War , all but one of the farms became deserted. It was not until four years after the war that buyers were found who paid 30 cruisers to one guilder for an acre of land and who committed to annual taxes. According to the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Monastery Office, also from 1608, 7 Heilsbronn properties are given (4 courtyards and 3 Köbler estates).

In the official description of the Lichtenau Nursing Office from 1748, 11 subject families are specified for the place, 1 of which was subordinate to the Hergersbach Main Team of the Lichtenau Nursing Office and 10 other landlords.

Towards the end of the 18th century, Haag formed a real community with Jakobsruh, Steinhof, Steinmühle with 16 properties and a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach, the village and community rulership was held by the Heilsbronn monastery administrator. The landlords were the Principality of Ansbach (14 properties; Heilsbronn monastery administration office: 1 courtyard, 2 three-eighth farms, 3 half-farms, 4 estates, 1 smithy, 1 mill 1 empty house ; Windsbach caste office : 1 inn) and the Nuremberg owner von Stromer (1 estate). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach . The number of properties remained unchanged.

In 1806, Haag came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , Haag was assigned to the Aich tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Aich, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Haag broke up with Jakobsruh , Reuth , Steinhof and Steinmühle von Aich and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Haag was administered by the Heilsbronn District Office , since 1880 by the Ansbach District Office (renamed the Ansbach District in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn Rent Office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn Tax Office , from 1929: Ansbach Tax Office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 6.575 km². On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Haag was incorporated into Neuendettelsau as part of the regional reform .
