history

The place was first mentioned in 1150 with the name "Eich". Accordingly, it was a settlement that was originally located in an oak forest. The settlement activity should have started in the 10th century.

Originally the farms were owned by the lords of Abenberg , the lords of Vestenberg / Bruckberg , a Dietrich von Wunnenstein and the brothers Ulrich and Friedrich von Emmendorf . The Heilsbronn Monastery gradually came into possession of all these goods (1152–1402).

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, 20 teams are listed for Aich: the 5 farmers and 15 Köbler were all subordinate to the Heilsbronn monastery administrator . There was a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . During the Thirty Years' War , seven of the 28 properties at the time remained inhabited, five burned down, 16 fell into disrepair and deserted. In contrast to other places in the area, Aich recovered quickly: twenty years after the war, 25 properties were already occupied.

Towards the end of the 18th century, Aich and the Froschmühle formed a real community with 25 properties and 1 communal shepherd's house. The high court continued to exercise the caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach , while the monastery administration office in Heilsbronn held village and community rulership. The landlords were the Heilsbronn monastery administration office (24 properties: 2 courtyards, 1 half courtyard, 2 quarter courtyards, 3 estates, 12 estates, 1 estate with cones, 1 mill estate with hammer forge, 2 houses) and the manor Rügland of the Lords of Crailsheim (1 mill). From 1797 to 1808 the entire place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach . The number of properties remained unchanged.

In 1806 Aich came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Aich tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Altendettelsau , Birkenhof , Geichsenhof , Geichsenmühle , Froschmühle , Haag , Hammerschmiede , Jakobsruh , Mausendorf , Mausenmühle , Reuth , Steinhof and Steinmühle belonged. The rural community Aich was formed in 1810 and was congruent with the tax district. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . In 1811/1812 Watzendorf and Wollersdorf were added from the Bertholdsdorf tax district, and in 1816 they switched back to the Bertholdsdorf tax district. With the second community edict (1818) the rural community Aich was split into

  • Rural community Altendettelsau with frog mill;
  • Rural community of Haag with Jakobsruh, Reuth, Steinhof and Steinmühle;
  • Rural community Wollersdorf with Watzendorf;
  • Geichsenhof, Geichsenmühle, Hammerschmiede Mausendorf and Mausenmühle continued to belong to the rural community of Aich.

From 1862 to 1879, Aich belonged to the Heilsbronn district office, from 1880 to the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ) and to the Heilsbronn rent office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn tax office , from 1929: Ansbach tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach . The community had an area of 6,082 km². On January 1, 1972, Aich was incorporated into Neuendettelsau as part of the regional reform .
