The Aicher Chapel is a church building without patronage in Aich . It is house number 1 on Petersauracher Straße.

history

In 1900 Georg Michael Wirth, a Nuremberg butcher who was born in Aich, donated the building of a chapel. According to the Bavarian municipal code, however, such a construction would have been inadmissible. That is why it was officially built in 1901 as a bell house.

The building has a square floor plan of around 5 × 5 meters and a height of around 6.5 meters. The gable roof runs from the north to the south side. On this is a bell tower with a clock as a roof turret. On the west side there is an arched portal, on the south side there are two rectangular windows, between the foundation board and a clock face in the gable.

The interior ends with a flat wooden ceiling. A wooden altar with an attachment (a painting of Jesus crucified framed by Tuscan columns) stands on the east side, a baptismal font in the middle. The chapel offers seating for around 20 people. In the period that followed, the maintenance of the chapel was financed by the yield from a field donated by Georg Wirth's descendants. Extensive renovation work was carried out in 1962. The chapel is now owned by the Evangelical Lutheran parish of St. Michael (Weißenbronn) ( Dean's Office Windsbach ).

Baptisms, weddings, and communion celebrations are held in the chapel. Regular church services do not take place. The parish fair is celebrated on the Sunday after Michaelmas (September 29th).
