history

In 1142, the Regensburg bishop Heinrich I von Wolfratshausen gave Count Heinrich von Hohstet, among other things, the "Kaphesdorf", which had been loaned to the bishop until then. This is also the first mention of the place by name. The defining word of the place name is the Middle High German word “kapfen” (= gape, look out), which probably means the wide view that one has from this point. The place consisted of five courtyards at the time. In 1233 a court came to the Nuremberg Order of the Teutonic Order . The daughters of Conrad of Solzburg sold in 1268 to the monastery Heilsbronn the Kastrum Burgelin including other goods in various places, including in Kapsdorf. In the Salbuch in Eichstätt , which was created around 1300, 2 hubs are recorded for the "Caphstorf" , which were subordinate to the Abenberg maintenance office . In 1341 the abbot of Heilsbronn at that time bought the Gamsfelder slope from two estates in Kapsdorf.

In 1529 the main Hergersbach team of the imperial city of Nuremberg was subject to a subject family in the village. Due to a contract between the Margrave of Ansbach and the Eichstätter Bishop Kapsdorf fell to the Principality of Ansbach in 1537, which meant that the four Catholic subject families had to convert to Protestantism.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1616, 8 teams were recorded for Kapsdorf: 2 farmers and 1 Köbler were subordinate to the Abenberg caste office in Eichstätt , 3 farmers from the imperial city of Nuremberg and 2 farmers from the Brandenburg-Ansbach monastery administration office in Heilsbronn . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . According to the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Monastery Office, also from 1608, the two Heilsbronn properties were designated as Köblergüter.

In 1632 "Kabsdorf" was completely burned down in the Thirty Years' War . In the Eichstätter Salbuch of 1671, 7 subject families were again recorded for Kapsdorf, 3 of which were subordinate to the Abenberg caste office, 2 to the Heilsbronn monastery administration office and 2 to the imperial city of Nuremberg.

In the official description of the Lichtenau Nursing Department from 1748, 8 subject families were specified for the place, two of which were subordinate to the Nursing Department and six other landlords .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 9 properties and a community shepherd's house in Kapsdorf. The high court exercised the caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach, the village and community rulership was held by the Heilsbronn monastery administrator. The landlords were the Heilsbronn monastery administration office (1 Ganzhof, 1 Halbhof), the Abenberg caste office (2 Ganzhöfe, 1 Gütlein), the Imperial City of Nuremberg (Landesalmosenamt: 1 Ganzhof; Mendelsche Twelve Brothers Foundation : 2 half yards ) and the Teutonic Order Coming Nuremberg (1 half yard). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach . At that time there were 8 subject families, 2 of which were Ansbachian.

As part of the municipal edict, Kapsdorf was assigned to the Barthelmesaurach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Barthelmesaurach, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Kapsdorf was changed to the newly formed rural community Ebersbach . On January 1, 1972, this was incorporated into Abenberg as part of the regional reform .
