history

In 1356 the place was first mentioned as "Wenigen Abenberg" when the widow of Ulrick Hekk gave her property (2 estates, 1 Seldenhaus , 1 house and riding school and 6 parts of the property belonging to it) to the Eichstätter Bishop Berthold von Zollern for 1300 pounds Heller sold. The fiefdom came to the Bishop of Eichstätt in 1360 from the Burgraviate of Nuremberg through an exchange with Niederoberbach . Kleinabenberg formed a community with Louisenau .

The place was burned down in the 30 Years War . In 1637 the place was considered uninhabited, according to a description from 1651 nothing had changed in this state.

In 1671 there were 5 properties in Kleinabenberg, all of which were subordinate to the Abenberg caste office . The High Court was exercised by the Abenberg Care Office in Eichstatt . Towards the end of the 18th century there were 6 properties in the village (1 three-quarter courtyard, 4 half courtyards, 1 Köblergut ) and a community pastor's house . The High Court exercised the Abenberg Nursing Authority. The village and township government and the manorial system had the box office Abenberg. In 1801 there were also 6 properties.

As part of the community edict, Kleinabenberg was assigned to the Asbach tax district in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community Aurau founded in 1811 . On July 1, 1972, Kleinabenberg was incorporated into Abenberg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
