history

The plow mill was probably built on Burgunderstraße in the 13th century . It was first mentioned in a document in 1401. The defining word of the place name is probably the last name of the owner at that time, Pflug. The relatively high tithe levies of the plow mill of 2 34 Simra grain, 60 eggs and a carnival chicken , in addition to the compulsory service at the ford and in the Schwabach hospital, suggest that the court was part of the Abenberg servitium for furnishing the royal table in the Middle Ages Nuremberg was.

In 1460, 1517 and 1549 the plow mill was listed in the Salbuch of the Eichstatt collegiate monastery of St. Nikolaus zu Spalt . The landlord of the property was the collegiate monastery. In 1544 the Schwabach Hospital is said to have become their landlord.

In the 16-point report of the Windsbach Regional Office from 1608, a team is recorded for Pflugsmühle that had Schwabach Hospital as the landlord. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach .

Until the 18th century, the Pflugsmüller and Beerbacher had to take care of the ford and the stick covering of the swampy valley crossing, for which the mill had a large forest available. The water level of the ford could be regulated with the mill weir in summer.

Towards the end of the 18th century, the plow mill belonged to Beerbach . The high court was exercised by the caste and municipal bailiff's office in Windsbach. The Schwabach hospital owned the grinding and sawmill as the landlord. Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the plow mill received the number 1 of the place Beerbach when the house numbers were assigned. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Pflugsmühle was assigned to the Wassermungenau tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the Wassermungenau rural community founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Pflugsmühle was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community of Beerbach . On May 1, 1978 this was incorporated into Abenberg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

Today the mill is used as a bakery with an adjacent beer garden.
