history

From the place-name broadcast - winds , one can conclude that the place is one of the Wendish settlements that were planned by the authorities in large numbers in the Middle Ages. The place name contains the Germanic personal name Marold, who can be regarded as the founder of the settlement.

In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608, 6 teams were recorded for Morlitzzüge. 5 properties were subordinate to the Hohenlohe office of Schillingsfürst and 1 property to the imperial city of Nuremberg . The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In the 16-point report of the Colmberg Oberamt from 1681, the manorial conditions for Morlitzhaben are unchanged. The high court was disputed by Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, but in 1710 it was contractually guaranteed to the Colmberg Higher Office.

At the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties in Morlitzhaben. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Vogtamt Colmberg . The authority of the Hohenlohe- Schillingsfürst held the authority of the village and the community . The landlords were the office of Schillingsfürst (1 yard, 4 Köblergüter , 1 half Köblergut) and the imperial city of Rothenburg (1 yard). In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, breaker's house ). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Leutershausen and Chamber Office Colmberg .

In the geographical statistical-topographical lexicon of Franconia (1801) the place was described as follows:

"[Sp. 455] Marolzwind, Hohenloh-Schillingsfürstlicher hamlet of 6 Hohenlohischen and one Rothenburgischen households, belongs to the Oberamt Schillingsfürst, parish to Gastenfelden, has excellent agriculture and livestock, and should be confused with Prussia.
[Sp. 650] Morolzwinden, also Morlitzwinden, K. Prussian Weiler, Zwey hours of Leutershausen of mixed rule and 6 Gemeindrechten, among which 1 Reich city Roth Burgi ULTRASONIC, and the others are Prussian Hohenlohe Schilling Fuerstlich. Every subject can be judged and treasured under his rule. The Fraisch was otherwise disputed between Brandenburg and Hohenlohe. The tithe falls half to Rothenburg and half to Hohenlohe, where the shepherd's staff also belongs. Prussia and Hohenlohe alternate with each other annually under the protection of the parish fair.

As part of the municipal edict, Morlitzhaben was assigned to the Buch am Wald tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Buch am Wald, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Morlitzhaben was changed into the newly formed rural community Hagenau . On January 1, 1974, this was incorporated into Buch am Wald as part of the regional reform .
