The Kulmbacher circle was under Prussian administration one of six counties in the principality of Bayreuth , based in Kulmbach .

history

The Kulmbacher Kreis existed from 1797 to 1806. It was formed from parts of the Kulmbach administration and the Thurnau and Peesten manors of the Lords of Giech . The district authority was called the district directorate. Justice and administration were separated. The sub-authorities were the Kulmbach and Sanspareil judicial offices and the Kulmbach and Sanspareil chamber offices, and the magistrates Kasendorf, Seibelsdorf, Wirsberg and Wonsees. The city of Kulmbach was directly under the Bayreuth War and Domain Chamber. The manors were converted into patrimonial courts under Prussian law. On November 2, 1806, the French military government in the Principality of Bayreuth replaced the defeated Prussia. With the Paris Treaty of 1810 , the Principality of Bayreuth - and with it the Kulmbacher Kreis - came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . The Prussian administrative structures were abolished. They were replaced by the newly created regional courts of Bayreuth , Kulmbach and Lichtenfels , which were responsible for both administration and justice.
