Rugendorf is a municipality in the district of Kulmbach ( Upper Franconia administrative district ) and a member of the Stadtsteinach administrative community .

Geographical location
Rugendorf is located in the Franconian Forest Nature Park . The place is directly on the B 303 between Kronach and Kulmbach / Stadtsteinach.

history
Until the church is planted
Rugendorf was first mentioned in a document in 1316. The von Waldenfels family built Rugendorf Castle . Rugendorf later belonged to the Bamberg Monastery . Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 the place belongs to Bavaria. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's community of Rugendorf was created with the community edict of 1818 .
District affiliation
On July 1, 1972, Rugendorf came to the Kulmbach district through the dissolution of the Stadtsteinach district.
Population development
In the period from 1988 to 2018, the population fell from 983 to 973 by 10 or 1%. On December 31, 1993, Rugendorf had 1,081 inhabitants.
