Bechtelsreuth is a district of the Mainleus market in the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach .

Geographical location

The hamlet is 3.6 kilometers southeast of Mainleus, above the village of Wüstenbuchau on the KU 6 district road. The next larger city is Kulmbach, about 9 kilometers away .

history

Bechtelsreuth was first mentioned in a document in 1348 and at that time belonged to the St. Getreu cell in Bamberg . In 1437 Bishop Anton von Bamberg sold Bechtelsreuth to Hans d. Ä. from Giech zu Buchau. Since then, the place has belonged to the Buchau manor. In 1482 Bechtelsreuth consisted of three property units: two courtyards and one Selde. Around 1600 the properties in the village increased by a trump house .

Since the community was formed in 1818, Bechtelsreuth belonged to the Lopp rural community in the Thurnau regional court, which was merged with the Kulmbach regional court in 1862 to form the Kulmbach district office. In the course of the municipal reform , Bechtelsreuth was incorporated into the Mainleus market on January 1, 1972.
