Location of Kasendorf in the district of Kulmbach

Heubsch is a district of the market Kasendorf in the district of Kulmbach in Bavaria .

history

In 1977 cellar-like storage pits were discovered during excavations. From this it can be concluded that the place was already inhabited 2500 years ago. Evidence of iron ore processing was also found. When that was is unknown. A stamp mill that crushed the iron ore could also have stood nearby . According to some historians , a family association has settled in Heubsch, which has occupied a castle on a royal commission. The place name Heubsch is similar to the name hiwiske ( Middle High German ; family).

The place was first mentioned in 1333 in connection with knights von Heybesch . During the Thirty Years' War , Heubsch was attacked by Croats on April 24, 1634, who set fire to many houses. Children and many adults are said to have perished.

The place fell into the possession of Carl Gottfried in 1699 . He bought it from Margrave Christian Ernst for 45,000 Rhenish guilders .

school

After the Thirty Years War, Heubsch probably already had a school. Johann Georg Heyerth was named as the school owner in 1809 and 1810. He had no school education, but taught the children according to his knowledge. From 1810 to 1847 Johann Hofmann was the school owner. Hofmann taught in his own house until a house was bought by the community in 1841, which then served as a schoolhouse. In 1848 a man who was the first properly trained teacher moved to Heubsch.

In 1964 the school was divided, so that grades 1 to 4 were taught in Heubsch and grades 5 to 8 in Kasendorf. From September 1967 the entire school was relocated to Kasendorf, so that the Heubscher school was closed.
