geography
The wasteland lies at the foot of the wooded ridge Hangleite ( 455 m above sea level , 1 km southwest). Otherwise the terrain slopes down in the other directions. A little further north flows the Dornlach , which flows east into the Dobrach . In the southeast is the Saugraben, but it no longer has any water. A community connecting road leads to the federal highway 85 at Höferänger (1 km southeast) or into another community connecting road to Unterdornlach (1.4 km northwest).
history
The place was first mentioned in 1361 as "Seukenreuth". The basic word is -reuth , the defining word of the personal name Siuco. Accordingly, the place name means the clearing of the Siuco, which was probably the founder of the place. In this document it was sealed that Otto Graf von Orlamünde transferred property of the place to the monastery Langheim . In 1740 the place was first mentioned as "Sackenreuth", probably an adaptation to Sack , as the personal name was no longer common.
Towards the end of the 18th century there was 1 property in Sackenreuth. The high court was exercised by the Bavarian Bailiwick of Kulmbach . The landlord of the court was the Bambergian Langheimer Amtshof .
From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the justice and chamber office Kulmbach . With the community edict, Sackenreuth was assigned to the Oberdornlach tax district formed in 1811 and the Oberdornlach rural community formed in 1812 . As a result of the second community edict (1818), the place was renamed the newly formed rural community Unterdornlach , which was renamed Höferänger in 1955 . On January 1, 1974, Sackenreuth was incorporated into Kulmbach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
