Losau is a district of the large district town of Kulmbach in Upper Franconia .
geography
The village is located on the Lösau , a right tributary of the Dobrach . In the north there is the wooded hill Lösauer Berg , in the south the Ziegelhüttener Forest with the Ebenberg ( 476 m above sea level ). The B 85 leads over the Holzmühle to Höferänger (3.4 km south) or to Kirchleus (2.3 km northwest). A community road leads to Esbach (1.6 km north).
history
The place was first mentioned in 1361 as “Reading”. The place name is derived from the noun Leština ( Slavic : hazelnut bushes ). According to the Landbuch der Herrschaft Plassenberg from 1398, "Lesein" was subordinate to the Burgraviate of Nuremberg . The Markgraftum Brandenburg-Kulmbach became their legal successor . In 1495 there were 9 households in "Lesaw".
Towards the end of the 18th century there were still 9 properties in Lösau (8 courtyards, 1 Sölde ). The high court was exercised by the Bavarian Bailiwick of Kulmbach . The Kulmbach caste office held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties .
From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the justice and chamber office Kulmbach . With the community edict, Lösau was assigned to the Kirchleus tax district formed in 1811 and the Kirchleus rural community formed in 1812 . With the second community edict (1818) the rural community of Lösau was formed, to which the places Einsiedel , Esbach , Holzmühle and Wehrhaus belonged. It was subordinate to the Kulmbach Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Kulmbach Rent Office ( renamed the Kulmbach Tax Office in 1919 ). From 1862, Lösau was administered by the Kulmbach District Office (renamed the Kulmbach District in 1939 ). Jurisdiction remained with the Kulmbach Regional Court until 1879, and from 1879 the Kulmbach Local Court . The municipality had an area of 5.123 km².
In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , Lösau was incorporated into Kulmbach on January 1, 1976.
