history

The place was first mentioned in 1361 as "Dabrach". The place name is based on an identical water body name. The defining word is dǫbru ( Slav. For oak forest), the basic word aha ( ahd. For brook, water). In 1398 the place was called "Munchdabrach" to distinguish it from the "Dabrach" located 4 kilometers to the north, today's Grafendobrach . The place received the addition Munch- because the Langheim monastery was wealthy there. In 1740 the place was first called "Niederndobrach".

At the end of the 18th century there were 10 properties in Niederndobrach. The high court was exercised by the Bavarian Bailiwick of Kulmbach . The village and township government had the bambergische Langheimer Amtshof held. The landlords were the Langheimer Amtshof (1 grinding mill, 7 estates), Amt I of the Kirchleus manor (1 estate) and the Wernstein manor (1 courtyard).

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the justice and chamber office Kulmbach . With the community edict, Niederndobrach was assigned to the Oberdornlach tax district formed in 1811 and the Oberdornlach rural community formed in 1812 . As a result of the second community edict (1818), the place was renamed the newly formed rural community Unterdornlach , which was renamed Höferänger in 1955 . On January 1, 1974, Niederndobrach was incorporated into Kulmbach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
