Wehrhaus is a district of the large district town of Kulmbach in the district of the same name in Bavaria .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Froschbach, a right tributary of the Dobrach , south of the Ebenberg ( 476  m above sea level ), which rises in the Ziegelhüttener Forest . A community road leads to Unterdornlach (1.3 km northwest) or to federal highway 85 (0.4 km east).

history

The place was originally called Ebenberg, named after the hill of the same name, which was first mentioned in a document in 1398 in the Landbuch der Herrschaft Plassenberg. Since the high plateau of the mountain is only 300 meters in diameter, it is questionable whether the defining word is actually the adjective flat . In 1692 the place was first referred to as "Wehr". So there was a dam there (see Wehr (hydraulic engineering) ). The original name was also used well into the 18th century.

Towards the end of the 18th century there was 1 property in Wehrhaus. The high court was exercised by the Bavarian Bailiwick of Kulmbach . The basic rule about the Sölde had the box office Kulmbach held.

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the justice and chamber office Kulmbach . When the house number was assigned, it was given the number 8 of the village of Lösau . With the community edict, Wehrhaus was assigned to the Kirchleus tax district formed in 1811 and the Kirchleus rural community formed in 1812 . As a result of the second community edict (1818), the place was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community of Lösau. On January 1, 1976, Wehrhaus was incorporated into Kulmbach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
