In the north there is the Ziegelhüttener Forst, a wooded hill ( 489  m above sea level ), and in the south the Ameisenknock ( 456  m above sea level ). Another communal road leads to the B 85 near Kirchleus (2.4 km northwest).

history

The place was first mentioned in 1290 as "inferiori Dornloch".

Towards the end of the 18th century there were still 11 properties in Unterdornlach. The high court was exercised by the Bavarian Bailiwick of Kulmbach . The village and township government had the box office Kulmbach held. The landlords were the Kastenamt Kulmbach (1 grinding mill, 1 courtyard, 3 Sölden , 1 residential building, 1 drip house ), the Bambergian Langheimer Amtshof (2 estates, 1 Sölde) and the Amt I of the Kirchleus manor (1 courtyard).

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the justice and chamber office Kulmbach . With the community edict, Unterdornlach was assigned to the Oberdornlach tax district formed in 1811 and the Oberdornlach rural community formed in 1812 . With the second community edict (1818) the rural community Unterdornlach was formed, to which the places Altenreuth , Bärnhof , Biegersreuth , Höfstätten , Niederndobrach and Sackenreuth belonged. It was subordinate to the Kulmbach Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Kulmbach Rent Office ( renamed the Kulmbach Tax Office in 1919 ). From 1862 Unterdornlach was administered by the Kulmbach District Office (renamed the Kulmbach District in 1939 ). Jurisdiction remained with the Kulmbach Regional Court until 1879, and from 1879 the Kulmbach Local Court . The municipality had an area of 8,442 km². In 1955 the community was dissolved. Unterdornlach came to the municipality of Oberdornlach with Bärnhof.

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Unterdornlach was incorporated into Kulmbach on January 1, 1974.
