Frankenberg is a district of Kulmbach in the district of the same name in Bavaria .
history
In 1361 Frankenberg was first mentioned in a document as "Franckenbeg" (probably from the first name Franco ). The castle seat of the Plassenburg was probably destroyed in a Hussite attack in 1430 . Since there is no evidence of damage in the documents, one can assume that the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) left Frankenberg almost without a trace.
Surroundings
The closest places are Katschenreuth , Steinenhausen and Melkendorf . Frankenberg has always belonged to the parish of St. Aegidius Melkendorf and became Protestant with it in 1528 . The confluence of the Red and White Mains lies between Frankenberg and Steinenhausen .
