Felkendorf is a district of the Thurnau market in the Kulmbach district in Upper Franconia .

geography

The immediate vicinity of the village consists of arable land and grassland, which are adjoined by forest areas in the west, south and east. The place is located northeast of a ridge of the Upper Main Hills , to which the Kleetz ( 561  m above sea level , 1.1 km southwest) and the Hetzenberg ( 550  m above sea level , 1.3 km south) belong. The terrain slopes down to the east in the direction of Limmersdorfer Forst . The district road BT 16 / KU 17 leads to Limmersdorf (1.1 km northwest) or to Pleofen (2.1 km southeast). A community connecting road leads past Meißnersleithen to Kleetzhöfe to the district road KU 7 (1.3 km southwest).

history

The place was first mentioned in 1307 as "Volchendorf". In 1316 the place was called "Velkendorf", from 1398 "Felkendorf". The defining word is the personal name Folicho (= PN Folo + diminutive suffix -icho). With the personal name the founder of the settlement was probably given.

At the end of the 18th century, Felkendorf consisted of 18 properties. The Giech'sche Amt Thurnau exercised the high court and the village and community rule . Landlords were the Office Thurnau (2 yards, 1 Good to forge one Dreiviertelgut, 1 Halbgut, 1 Viertelgut, 1 Söldengütlein , 5 Soelden, 2/2 Sölden, one house, one little house, 1 paddock) and the manor Thurnau (1 Well).

From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the patrimonial court of Thurnau . With the community edict, Felkendorf was assigned to the Limmersdorf tax district formed in 1811 . With the second community edict of 1818 , the rural community Felkendorf was formed, to which the Kleetzhöfe belonged. In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Thurnau Lordship Court (from 1852 Thurnau Regional Court ) and in the financial administration to the Thurnau Rent Office ( renamed Thurnau Tax Office in 1919 ). At this time Meißnersleithen was founded in the municipality. From 1862 onwards, Felkendorf was administered by the Kulmbach district office (renamed the Kulmbach district in 1939 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Thurnau until 1879, from 1879 district court of Thurnau . In 1899 Putzenstein was ceded by the Neustädtlein community . In 1929 jurisdiction was taken over by the Bayreuth District Court and in 1930 financial management by the Bayreuth Tax Office . The community originally had an area of 2.805 km², which increased to 2.890 km² through the incorporation of Putzenstein.

On April 1, 1971, the Felkendorf community was incorporated into the Limmersdorf community , which in turn was incorporated into the Thurnau market on May 1, 1978.

  • In 1936, while a road was being built from Thurnau to Tannfeld, an early medieval burial ground from the 8th to 9th centuries was discovered in Felkendorf-Kleetzhöfe.
