Ruh is part of the Thurnau market in the district of Kulmbach .
geography
The wasteland is surrounded by arable land and grassland and lies at the foot of the wooded Zaunberg hill ( 556 m above sea level , 0.9 km south). The Ruhbach rises there, a right tributary of the Aubach . A local road leads to Berndorf (0.8 km northwest).
history
The property was first mentioned in a document in 1784. The place name is derived from a field name , which means something like resting place, although it remains unclear why the field was given this name. The Giech'sche Amt Thurnau held the high court and the lordship over the Ganzhof .
From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the patrimonial court of Thurnau . With the community edict, Ruh was assigned to the tax district of Limmersdorf in 1811 and to the rural community of Berndorf in 1818 . On January 1, 1972, Ruh was incorporated into the Thurnau market as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
