geography

To the west of the wasteland there is arable land and grassland, to which the wooded elevations of Klinge and Reitersberg connect. Federal Autobahn 70 runs immediately to the south . A residential path leads directly to the KU 8 district road , which runs directly northeast to Thurnau to state road 2689 or southwest to Berndorf .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1526 as "Hoenzorn". The basic word is probably anger ( ahd. For lawn, Rodeland), the meaning of the defining word in unexplained. In 1684 the place was called "Hohenzorn", so the final word was interpreted as an indication of the direction.

Towards the end of the 18th century, Hohezorn consisted of an estate. The Giech'sche Amt Thurnau held the high court and the lordship over the little house .

From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the patrimonial court of Thurnau . With the community edict, Hohezorn was assigned to the tax district of Limmersdorf in 1811 and to the rural community of Berndorf in 1818 . On January 1, 1972, Hohezorn was incorporated into the Thurnau market as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
